YouthWrite is looking for a creative and enthusiastic person to edit YouthWrite: The Magazine, 2023-2024 Edition in preparation for summer 2024. YouthWrite Social Media Marketing

Positions available: 2YouthWrite is looking for TWO creative and enthusiastic persons to assist with social media marketing and communications in preparation for 2024 programming. This position requires someone who can work on self-directed projects but also under direction and under seasonal deadline pressure. Excellence in editing, copy writing, proofreading, graphic design and layout and design is necessary, as well as solid experience working in Canva and across many types of social media platforms. An understanding of our camps, our clients, sponsors and our non-profit arts organization is recommended, and an ideal candidate will have or be in the process of attaining a degree in communications, marketing, design, or arts and cultural management.As social media marketer you'll be mentored and supervised by the Director-Coordinator who will share sample social media posts and templates, as well as brand requirements and colour palettes.You'll have access to myriad images of past YouthWrite participants and short videos created during previous seasons of YouthWrite summer camps. You'll also have access to this current year's design elements.You'll create and edit copy, select photos, design and re-design social media posts per each of YouthWrite's platforms (and perhaps new, unexplored platforms) with attention to upcoming calendar events and holidays, literary themes, writing contests, alumni and current participant news, YouthWrite partnerships, and other important program details, in keeping with the youth/parent/donor audiences and YouthWrite's brand. Consultation with the Director-Coordinator is ongoing (either virtual, in-person, or via Zoom).You'll work independently, but will be encouraged to share drafts with the Director-Coordinator and the communications team, and will edit according to suggestions from team members.You'll post several times per week on all platforms and engage with viewers and followers frequently with the goal of increasing YouthWrite's audience (and potential donors/future camp participants).
