Bio

YouthWrite is a camp dedicated to enriching the lives of young people from all corners of Alberta by exposing them to a wide range of experiences related to the artistic process and, more specifically, the craft of writing. By fostering an environment that encourages creativity and creative risk-taking, we strive to create a community of openness, creativity, compassion, and mutual respect.
We envision a creative immersion experience that addresses and promotes twenty-first century multiple literacies.

We believe that creative arts and creative writing are the foundation of critical and creative thinking.

YouthWrite Society Canada believes in and practices inclusion. We reach out to participants who are on the margins, whether because of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or economic reasons. Inclusion, diversity, and gender balance are also considered when hiring staff and the instructional and supervisory teams.
