Describe the key concepts and processes used in the study of consumer behavior to explain why consumers make purchases. 2. Identify key ethical and social responsibility issues associated with marketing that impacts consumer behaviour. 3. Determine the factors that influence the spread of a new idea. 4. Explain how diffusion of innovation manifests itself in different ways in various cultures. 5. Analyze current trends in consumer behaviour. 6. Apply current trends in consumer behaviour to the marketing of a product or service. 7. Evaluate the effectiveness of marketing programs and their attempts to influence consumer behaviour. 8. Construct profiles of target market segments to identify which consumer groups are most likely to purchase a product. 9. Formulate effective marketing strategies to influence consumer decision-making. 10. Create a project to assess the consumer decision-making process.
ACE Project Space - Industry Project Winter 2025
The ACE Project Space is an interactive workspace where students, entrepreneurs, non-profit organizations and corporations collaborate to bring unique ideas to life. With the guidance of experienced staff and faculty, students of the Business Information Technology, Business Technology Management and Information Security programs work with industry clients to create prototypes, products and services that can be introduced to the market. ACE Project Space - Industry Project Demonstration of skills acquired in the student’s respective program of application development, data science, security, and IT Operations Project Dates Each employer will post 2 projects in the experience. These have set start and end dates: Project 1: January 20 - 31, 2025 Project 2: February 5 - 19, 2025 Phases and Activities Initiation Project kickoff and upskilling Requirements gathering Project Charter Proof of concept technical solution Design Infrastructure set up Initial development of basic components Wireframing Determine database structure or data models Initial security evaluation Develop & Test UX testing Feature development Feature testing Data labeling Model training Vulnerability assessment Solution Launch & Transition Technical manual User manual Code handoff Solution presentation Skills development Depending on the program of study a number of potential skills are developed Coding a comprehensive business solution based on client requirements Creating and training data models for predictive analytics Assessing application vulnerabilities and suggesting mitigation Creating business documentation outlining the requirements of a technical solution Communicating with a client regarding the progress of the technical solution Facilitating meetings with clients Performing analysis on client needs and designing a technical solution
Business Management Project/Finance
This experience focuses on two separate groups equipping learners with the skills to develop comprehensive marketing plans and financial plans for businesses. Learners will leverage their understanding of business dynamics , cultural considerations, and market analysis to create actionable strategies and solid financial plans and projections. By collaborating with local enterprises, learners will gain practical insights into the complexities of business enterprises in a Canadian environment

This experience is designed for learners who are going through the Advanced Sales Communication course, equipping them with skills in persuasive sales presentations, effective meeting facilitation, and formal business proposal writing. Learners will apply their knowledge of negotiation strategies, cultural diversity competencies, and non-verbal communication to real-world projects. This experience aims to bridge classroom learning with practical applications, preparing learners to engage with industry professionals and contribute to sales and marketing initiatives.
Sprint to Innovate: 3 Day Challenge

Sprint to Innovate powered by Canada Life brings together students of various disciplines (technology, business, entrepreneurship, etc) from Manitoba post-secondary institutions to learn about innovation, and collaborate in a fun and exciting challenge to build a minimum viable prototype for you in just two days (the weekend of January 31 to February 2, 2025). Sprint to Innovate is about learning innovation, being innovative, building deeper relationships, problem-solving and developing solutions to real business challenges.
