Healthcare Directory

At Ancestral Hands Midwives one of our main goals is to provide the Black community with equitable access to high quality health care. To achieve this we need your help to create a Black healthcare provider directory. Students should be prepared to: Familiarize themselves with the Directorist Wordpress plugin and the provided โ€œHow toโ€ documents. Research and compile a list of providers that can be added to the directory. Add providers once approved. Add newly submitted provider information to the directory. Edit and update existing directory entries as needed. Create a simple step by step guide to updating the directory. Deliverables Based on your research, create a spreadsheet of providers to add to the directory. Use Directorist to add your list of providers to the existing directory. Update and/or edit existing listings on Directorist (a list will be provided). Create a โ€œHow toโ€ guide with step by step instructions on how to edit and add providers to the directory.

Ancestral Hands Midwives is looking for assistance fundraising to support our mission: to reduce racial disparities in maternal outcomes and improve the experiences and outcomes for Black people during the prenatal, birth, and postpartum periods. As all non profit organizations, we are always looking for funding to sustain our organization and we would love your help. We're looking for students to help us: Grant writing: Research and create a list of grant opportunities Compile a master list of grant answers from existing grant applications Develop a needs statement that characterizes the community problem and justifies the need for funding Complete grant applications Sponsorship: Research sponsors and partnership opportunities Draft sponsorship letter templates Create a sponsorship package Draft communications including outreach to individuals, organizations/businesses to secure donations Join us if you have the skills and desire to work on this important project.

Social Media Campaign for Non Profit Organization

Ancestral Hands Midwives is looking for help creating new and engaging social media content. Students would be expected to: Review existing content and conduct a SWOT analysis Conducting social media research for the latest trends to develop infographics materials for the followers Create social media posts (in the form of a one-month content calendar planned out in detail) Design content for Instagram, TikTok and YouTube Convert existing videos into IG and TikTok content Provide recommendations of additional content to create The goal of the campaign is to build brand awareness, gain followers and spread awareness about maternal health disparities. Students can create content using Canva (preferred) or any software, but will need to ensure posts are the proper size for the intended social media platform and that captions adhere to character limits for the given platform. If you're a storyteller, creative writer, content creator and/or have an interest in Black maternal health, we would love to work with you.
