Virtual Internship -3: Marketing, Communications, or Journalism

Our organization is offering multiple virtual internship opportunities from May-Sept 2020 (dates flexible)GoalInterns at The International Indigenous Speakers Bureau - IISB will be provided an opportunity to connect and engage with various Indigenous celebrities, leaders, Knowledge Keepers and experts from around the world. This engagement will give the intern a rare opportunity into the world view and perspectives of Indigenous People and their culture. It will also garner the intern an inside view into the untapped Indigenous solutions to our modern day issues and challenges.This Internship will expose the intern to a variety of skills and experiences to enhance their education and create a meaningful impact on our business and the lives of our Speakers. Interns will learn about our organization and an Indigenous model of business. They will develop technical, business, and marketing skills. They will also be exposed to a set of experts and speakers beyond any group ever assembled. The intern may also have the opportunity to create pieces for publication with various partnered media organizations. This experience will provide opportunity for Interns to develop their own professional portfolio of work to share in their ongoing career.At the International Indigenous Speakers Bureau we are a family and want to help our Interns succeed as much as we want them to help us grow. Level Up Video Editing A Introduction to Video Editing Foundations

This Level Up Project is for Indigenous video editors who wish to learn and develop their video editing skills across cultures. This is an 80-hour project and a pre-requisite for additional video editing projects.This is the first of a gradual multiple-step learning experience in Indigenous video development and editing.This project is designed for people who identify as IndigenousProject Details: Students will engage with 6 Indigenous Education videos, complete corresponding reflection pages for each, and attend respective team meetings.Students will shadow and work alongside a Production specialist to become familiar with general video editing and development techniques. The goal of this project is to equip students with the skills to move forward to work confidently with IISB in the curation of Knowledge Nuggets.Students who complete this first level of video editing training will then be eligible to go on to the next level of video editing projects.

Level Up Comms B Introduction to Indigenous Communications

This Level Up Project is for students who wish to learn and develop their communications skills across cultures.This is the one of a gradual multiple step learning experience in Indigenous Communications.Project Details: In this project level students will watch 6 Indigenous Education videos, complete corresponding reflection pages for each, and attend respective team meetings.Students will shadow and work alongside a Communications specialist to continue becoming more proficient with general communications, and journalistic communications while also becoming familiar with Indigenous communications. The goal of this project is to equip students with the necessary skills to competely work with IISB, an Indigenous organization, to develop communications assets.Students who complete this level of communication project, will then be eligible to go on to the next level of communications projects.
