Social Media Posts
5 individual positions available We would like students to help us with creating Social Media posts aligned with our vision, mission, and sector. You can see samples at http://LinkedIn.com/in/ZaleTabakman The posts will evergreen articles in the following categories 1) About a healthy vegetables - we have done Basil, Peas. Every fresh vegetable is suitable. We have a long list to choose from. 2) Food Investing - articles that talk about investing in food based business, targeting angel investors. We have a list of topics to research from,. 3) Articles on indoor Vertical Farming companies - note - these are note expected to be evergreen articles, rather a life expectancy of 30 days 4) Articles on the content of Indoor Vertical Farming technology To accomplish this, we expect the student(s) to: Research the content Write in Zale's voice - this will be an iterative process Identify media outlets for sources Ultimately, you will be working on content creation for our organization, potentially providing scripts or content for video If you like the sound of our culture, and are ready to tackle this challenge with us, then we'd love to hear from you. A student or team with excellent writing skills would be the ideal candidate for this project. We recognize that not all students would be appropriate for all the categories, so a student can select from the categories they would like to use. Each article is expected to be no more than 250 words or so.

Number of positions available: 20 Peopletail is an e-commerce retailer that helps health and wellness brands sell products through a community of content creators and influencers We’d like to provide Riipen students with an opportunity to Level Up their experience in the field of Blog and Article Writing . The role of 80 hours will consist of: Writing about brands we sell on our platform Telling creative stories of how products can be used Explaining products from an ingredients perspective Trying to write articles that persuades consumers to buy them from Peopletail We’d ask you to write a minimum of 10 x 500 word articles throughout the 80 hours of your project at Peopletail.
Article Writing
Positions available: up to 65 We would like students to help us with creating content that is aligned with our vision, mission, and sector. We will ensure the student has a clear understanding of what these elements are for our organization. During the spring and summer, the Antarctic Institute of Canada runs a program called Sharpen the Quill. The goal of the project is to develop student's writing and publication skills. During March and April, students will be expected to write 4 articles for us. These can be blogs, newspaper, or peer-reviewed articles. We have places to publish the articles for free on peer-reviewed publications. Students will be expected to: Research topics Write articles for a specific journal Peer-review articles for other students Submit their articles for approval and revisions before publication

We need help to figure out the very best places to feature and help parents navigate all the choices available within their local communities. If you’re a student who can conduct informal research about all aspects of a local neighbourhood, then you’re who we’re looking for. We want you to help us build a parent focused Yelp! for Canadian parents. Creating a Free Learner Movement-Phase I
Number of positions available: 3 teams of 2-3 persons The UnschoolingSchool.com team is working with Riipen students across Canada to synthesize the many sources of proof and evidence that Self-Directed Education (SDE) works and is an optimal way to educate children. For more information about the overall scope of our amazing project click on the Resources Section. Free Learner (FL) is a new designation that applies to students who wish to take responsibility for their time and learning path. The FL label is self-assigned by students and their families, rather than by experts, to announce that they require and deserve approaches to learning that work best for them. The FL label indicates to the school that the student will operate under an alternate set of parameters, expectations, and responsibilities and, as such, require accommodation in the class and school. Planning the movement: - Researching 'how to create a movement' - Development of a comprehensive plan (ie what is needed to make it happen--social media, partnerships, spokes people) 2. Website creation and promotion - FreeLearner.ca (development of a youth-led free-standing site, backed up by UnschoolingSchool.com) 3. Completed reports from our other Riipen projects (in Resources section) Possible approach: - research and brainstorm ways to create a movement - design methodology and phases - develop FreeLearner.ca website and related social media platforms and messaging plan - connect with teams on the Riipen Student Survey project and Grown Canadian Self-Directed Learners project We are looking for 3 teams of 2-4 people working together--one team on movement development outreach and partnership; a second team on website development; and a third team on social media content development. The three teams will need to work synergistically to support each other and create the movement. Human Creativity & Neuroscience Research Project (2)
Number of individual positions available: up to 5 We are a business and personal performance consulting and coaching firm that works with CEO's, executives, entrepreneurs, business owners and professionals. This project will entail researching the scientific and psychological elements of getting creativity. This is a state of optimal thinking, creativity, innovation and problem solving. Essentially, it's the ability for the average person to have amazing insight and intuition. Going from average to Einstein like thinking. We are able to take on up to 5 students. Students will be researching and compiling strategies for individuals to have optimal thinking and creativity levels using sounds scientific and psychological principles. They'll also be answering questions such as: how does a person get into this state? How long can a person stay in the state? What elements are required to optimize the state? The research must be sound and from credible sources. The end product is a "how to" guide for getting into a state of creativity. The purpose is to provide managers and individuals with a guide to optimize personal performance in the workplace, personal hobbies and for problem solving. The students will surely learn how to optimize their own performance along the way.

Risks of Exposure to Planters from Pesticides on Tree Seedlings
Context Brinkman Group was incorporated in 1979. We have planted 1.5 billion trees, and have over 1000 planters working each year. However, pesticides pose a variety of risks to our planters. The purpose of this project is to write a new report about pesticides on seedlings, to update the 1982 book Caution Before Yield (attached under resources) with the current industry specs. Updating with new science is necessary to provide current planters with an accurate picture, as Caution Before Yield is based off science from four decades ago. The completed version will be available to distribute to planters and industry stakeholders to better inform them of the risks they face. Ideal candidate We are looking for a graduate student with enough medical background and interest to inform our advisories to our planters of the long-term, low-risk factors they face in their work from pesticides, specifically their carcinogenic, teratogenic and mutagenic risks. Project Review of existing advisory literature, the research of which was done a few decades ago. Update references and advisory literature. Modify communications into digital, social media formats for use by current planters.
Athlete Influencer Marketing Internship
We’re looking for a student to help us develop a network of influencers that can help with our brand recognition and marketing strategies. The role of 80 hours will consist of focusing and outreaching to social media influencers on Instagram that are relevant to football to market and sell our products. We would like students to craft a pitch of why these influencers should work with us to sell and market our products, then pitch it to athletes, coaches, social media influencers etc., with the aim to get coverage. Example: Offer an athlete our product for free for posting on their social media account or offer a small amount of compensation per post. Students can also use Highlight Exposure to find connections to football players to promote and sell our products. You will be asked to keep a google spreadsheet of all influencers you’ve reached out to/who we should reach out to for record keeping purposes, and cases where they may follow up after your project ends.
