The Fiction Agency is a boutique creative writing studio based in Elora, Ontario. We develop exciting and engaging fiction series for our clients and work with the most talented genre fiction writers in Canada.
Through our world-class author mentoring and coaching programs, we take pride in training talented young writers who wish to go on to lucrative careers as writers of popular fiction.
We currently focus on the Mystery, Thriller, and Romance genres.

Genre Fiction Story Development
We are looking for students to help us design, develop, and plot exciting fiction stories. Support for students will include: Weekly mentoring with a developmental editor Training in the use of our collaborative writing software Guidance in the mechanics of story-telling and plot development Students will be involved in: Workshopping and developing the plot of a story from start to finish Taking into account the needs of popular or genre fiction in today's market Working within a defined and disciplined structure to plot the book Meeting weekly deadlines and attending weekly editor meetings remotely Storyboarding or plotting out the action of a story in bullet point form Expanding on bullet point notes to begin the process of turning a plot or an outline into a finished book
Genre Fiction Story Development 4
This is a follow up project for students who completed our Genre Fiction Story Development 3 project. In this project, we will guide you through the process of fleshing out the story outline you created in the previous project, and developing a third draft of the manuscript. Support for students will include: Weekly mentoring with a developmental editor Training in the use of our collaborative writing software Guidance in the mechanics of story-telling and plot development Students will be involved in: Workshopping and developing the plot of a story from start to finish Taking into account the needs of popular or genre fiction in today's market Working within a defined and disciplined structure to plot the book Meeting weekly deadlines and attending weekly editor meetings remotely Storyboarding or plotting out the action of a story in bullet point form Expanding on bullet point notes to begin the process of turning a plot or an outline into a finished book

This is a follow up project for students who completed our Genre Fiction Story Development 4 project. In this project, we will guide you through the process of editing the story you created in the previous projects and bringing the manuscript to its fully-publishable finalized form. Support for students will include: Weekly mentoring with a developmental editor Guidance in the mechanics of story-telling and plot development Students will be involved in: Workshopping and developing the plot of a story from start to finish Taking into account the needs of popular or genre fiction in today's market Working within a defined and disciplined structure to plot the book Meeting weekly deadlines and attending weekly editor meetings remotely Doing a final edit or polish of the manuscript to bring it to publishable level By the end of the project, you will have created a full novel that is ready for readers to enjoy
