Grey-box
- Description
-
Grey-box is a social innovation startup tackling the global digital divide. 50% of the world's population is not connected, and the COVID-19 situation is exacerbating these inequalities. Our main product, UNI, provides wireless access to digital resources (such as Wikipedia, Khan academy, several MOOC-type online courses, medical databases) in areas where access to the internet or to electricity is unreliable. Our team is working on an accessible product (portable, energy efficient, climate resistant and, above all, cheaper than $100 per unit) which allows anyone to connect to these essential resources for their development and autonomy.

Project feedback
I worked with Grey-box Canada for the first time as VFC Intern and thoroughly had an enriching experience as one of the contributing members. In these close to two months of experience I saw the enthusiasm and engagement of team Grey-box which is located all in different time-zones, in different meetings that I participated on a weekly basis. We were given equal importance by Valentine, CEO of Grey-box, and he would invite suggestions from us in an effort to improvised internship experience for upcoming members. Touchpoint with Firuza on a weekly basis and her constant assurance gave an opportunity to share our experiences in best possible manner. The overall experience was excellent.
