Documentation for Writing Well is Hard
Writing Well is Hard (writingwellishard.com) is a digital tool designed to help academics to write like the best writers in their discipline. There is currently no documentation that describes how the back-end of WWIH works or how it can be updated. The main goal of this project is to create the documentation for WWIH, to show how the behind the scenes work, and to make the back-end of the site accessible to all staff at Writing Short is Hard consulting.

Graphic Design, Illustration, and Artistry
I have three newly developed courses that are sorely lacking in visuals. I'm looking for help creating graphics -- these could be infographics, gifs, or anything to simply make these courses more visually appealing and break up the text. I also have already developed landing pages and videos for each course, but could use help in revising the landing pages to make them more attractive and engaging.

Research Assistant for Content Marketing
I've been doing content marketing for the past three years without realizing it. Clearly, I need some guidance as to how to do it more strategically! As a freelancer editor of academic writing, I write the monthly advice column Ask Dr. Editor for University Affairs . People send me questions and I answer them, and then other people learn about my editing business through my column, and those people hire me to edit for them. Only thing is, I have never approached this work with a plan. I get questions and I answer them! It would be wonderful to have a team of students who could help me with keyword and other content research that would enable me to know what kinds of topics I ought to be covering in my column, instead of simply writing about whatever I want. Given that I have an established audience, brand, and voice, how do I ensure that I'm serving the needs of potential clients by really addressing their concerns?

UX/UI Facilitation and Guidance for Text Analysis Tool
This project involves working in a small team to provide guidance and oversight for the UX/UI process for the below-described text analysis tool. Work will involve organizing facilitating a series of focus groups, analyzing and interpreting focus group feedback, and providing guidance to the web designer, to ensure that the final design is intuitive and easy-to-use. Most online tools for analyzing writing aren't appropriate for the kind of writing that is published in peer-reviewed academic journals. No article in Nature or Science is ever going to written the way that hemingwayapp.com suggests is 'good.' I'm an expert in academic writing: I have a PhD in poetry, and I write the monthly advice column Ask Dr. Editor for University Affairs. I know what to look for in academic writing, to make it more clear, concise, and compelling--and thus more likely to be published in a high-JIF journal. I've secured help in developing an online tool similar to hemingwayapp.com , countwordsworth.com , writersdiet.com , or even the AI-powered VMock , which I can use to help researchers to identify ineffective writing strategies in their own work.
