Athletics Special Events Project Coordinator
Number of individual students required: (1 Student) Background: Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) and the Thunder Athletics & Recreation department are proud members of the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) and the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). Thunder Athletics takes pride in promoting academic and athletic success, event hosting, and servicing thousands of students annually. Reporting to the Director of Athletics & Recreation, the successful candidate will be a results oriented team player with a positive can-do attitude. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to assist in the organization, development and implementation of a post-secondary Athletics & Recreation program that abides by the institution and the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) codes of ethics. Project Overview: Throughout the course of the ACAC season, Thunder Athletics will host over 70+ events on Concordia University of Edmonton campus that will accommodate student athletes, coaches, officials, and fans. Thunder Athletics wants to ensure that the ultimate fan and student experience is met at all home events by creating a safe, fun and interactive atmosphere. The Athletics Special Events Project Coordinator position will require extensive research, planning and creativity that will operate in a fast paced sport environment. Throughout the duration of this project there will be constant communication between department staff, coaches, and student athletes to provide support as needed. Responsibilities Will Include: · Research and plan fundraising events for Thunder Athletics. · Coordinate the Thunder Athletics K-Days Parking Fundraiser · Research effective promotional giveaway items for Thunder Athletics events. · Review and revise the Team Visitor guide. · Review and revise Game Day Rundown plan for the 2021-22 season. Project Timeline: This project will be completed over the course of 80 hours during the months of May to August 2021.
Marketing and Event Assistant - Level Up
The Marketing & Event Assistant will work directly with the CEO and Founder Sharon Bonner as the company pivots to coordinating virtual and hybrid events. The intern will work with Sharon to plan the virtual events and be directly supervised by Sharon. In addition, Sharon is starting her own consulting business and the intern will be working with her to develop the consulting website content, marketing strategy and business offering. The intern will asked to perform market research to define the target market for consulting clients. Sharon has also created a new business www.caringconnections.ca and will be looking for marketing support on how to promote her cards in 2022.
Sports Marketing Internship
We're looking to find a highly motivated marketing content creators to work with our team, to help us with all things social media. We would like students to help us with creating content that is aligned with our vision. We will ensure the student has a clear understanding of what these elements are for our organization. Based on our goals, we are looking for the student to work on the following: Social Media Management: oversee the different channels we own, post content (i.e, post a product photo, repost a random football video, Fantom video, review from amazon, motivational quote etc.) Drive traffic to our site, walmart.com or amazon.com to sell our product Tag any relevant people in posts with the goal to get a repost Use relevant hashtags on our posts SEO and other marketing-related tasks The goal is to have an intern posting relevant content on our social media channels to increase awareness, nurture engagement, and drive sales.
