In advance of any product build, our company spends a good amount of time researching potential technologies, and architectures, and how they will fit together to fit our customer’s needs. We would like you to evaluate our new product’s needs and compare that against current open source technologies and architectural patterns to develop an overall software architecture we could use to implement in our product. This will involve: Conduct background research on our product. Identify what open source software is available and what software architecture patterns would be best suited for this application. Creation of a detailed software architecture model, highlighting key components, software, patterns, and anything else needed.

Web Application UI/UX Design & Prototype

Our company would like to explore designing a prototype for a web application of our product. This will involve: Conduct background research on our company branding and design schemes. Identify key areas of our product and how they might translate to a web application. Learn and use various software design tools. We strongly recommend students learn how to use Figma as it is the latest and greatest tool currently available.

Software Development for Web Application

SISA Energy is an innovative energy consulting startup with a mission to reduce the greenhouse gas output of buildings in Canada. We do this by providing our clients with automated energy audits of their building portfolios and a one-stop platform where they can access and visualize their data. For this project, students will be helping SISA energy overhaul our platform to make it more mobile friendly, this will involve re-creating existing components so that they can be adapted to mobile, desigining wireframes on how desktop features will be translated into mobile, and code new components specifically for the mobile platform Since the scope of the project may change, the students’ general responsibilities/goals for this project include: - Designing the look of the feature with Figma - Identifying any open-source software or third-party libraries we can use to help with implementing the data collection feature - Creating the component itself in React and linking it to our Flask backend.
