Bio

As a biomedical sciences student, I have a passion for medical technology and its commercial applications. With strong leadership skills, a confident and meticulous approach to problem solving, and the ability to think critically and analytically, I have occupied a number of different roles. In my academic and career pursuits, I find the intersection between science and business key in and ever-changing landscape today. As we begin to fuse science and society and look for actionable outcomes in medical research, it is important to effectively commercialize and find the middle ground between business and science. My career goal is to enter business development, project management and/or management consulting within the biotechnology industry. With a strong background in administrative work and lab experience, my value lies in my multidimensional skill set, and ability to approach problems with a unique mindset. My strong work ethic and personability would make a concrete addition.

Business Development Role

Almost 4.95 million deaths were associated with bacterial antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in 2019 and it’s a growing concern. As such, there is an urgent need to break down the AMR cycle between humans, the environment, and animals as well as a call for alternative antibacterial agents. MHCombiotic Inc. (MHC) has formulated novel components with high antibacterial and anti-biofilm potency while also containing antioxidant, and anti-inflammation properties to address this worldwide affliction. As a member of the Turner research group at the University of Calgary, Canada, MHC was able to successfully formulate several effective novel antimicrobial agents. These components showed decreased side effects while demonstrating increased effectiveness in comparison to current antibiotics being used. We require a student to aid us in business development and strategic progression as we go forward. This role includes marketing, vendor engagement, website development and administrative assistance.
