MiTravel - Business Development / Marketing

THE PROJECT We are looking for a business / marketing strategy to further increase customer adoption of MiTravel which will be implement during the course of project term. The main goal is to capture our avid group travel planners’ attention and increase their interest in becoming an early user of the MiTravel Planning Board. You will have the opportunity to choose from and work on 1-2 specific marketing channels and activities including (but not limited to) the following: Business Development : identify, build relationships and secure partnerships with travel-related companies that will benefit from integrating the MiTravel Planning Board into their business operations and be of use to their community of travellers. Community Engagement : increase member size and channel engagement within our Discord community, becoming the leading central hub for all avid travellers and planners. Email Marketing : develop a lead magnet that will attract website visitors to subscribe to our mailing list, as well as create newsletters to engage with existing subscribers (both users / non-users), ultimately converting non-users to become MiTravel users. Product Education : increase product knowledge and demonstrate the value of the MiTravel Planning Board to potential users, resulting in users choosing to sign up for an account with MiTravel over alternative platforms. Selected students will develop a strategy for a specific marketing channel and implement their ideas from start to finish, with ongoing support and mentorship from the Founder & CEO. To ensure the successful delivery of this project, we outline some key tasks and basic timeline which selected students will perform: Week 1 : Gain a better understanding of what MiTravel is as a company and platform, and conduct preliminary primary or secondary market research to strengthen your understanding of the group travel planner demographic, and assess best practices of what engages them and makes them want to sign-up and become an early user of the platform. Week 1 : Develop and present your strategy pitch + implementation plan to the Founder & CEO that will improve our brand / product presence while also growing our user base to become the go-to travel planning platform for group travellers. Week 2-7 : Implement your content strategy across channel(s) you and your group of selected students have chosen. Review weekly metrics of the KPIs set to measure how your strategy is proceeding forward (what's working / not working). Week 8 : Analyze project implementation and consolidate into a final deliverable (i.e. what you worked on over the past 8 weeks, what were the results, any challenges that you faced, what would you do differently, key learnings and takeaways) which will be presented to the team during the Wrap-Up Showcase & Social Party. Please note: the selected student candidates will work on this project on a part-time basis for about 10 hours per week (for a maximum duration of 8 weeks). THE CANDIDATES You are an ambitious, entrepreneurial-driven student looking to build a career in business development or product marketing. Full of creative ideas, you are known as the go-to person when it comes to brainstorming and executing strategic ideas. In addition to being an excellent communicator, you are confident in your abilities, motivated to produce quality work, and are eager to spearhead and bring this project from concept to creation.
