Details

This project offers students an opportunity to apply strategic learning and development (L&D) principles to address real world organizational challenges. The Federation of Canadian Secondary Students (FCSS-FESC) is looking to strengthen its internal training systems, knowledge sharing, and volunteer development processes

Students will design and implement impactful L&D initiatives that align with FCSS-FESC’s operational and mission based goals. These may include digital training modules for new volunteers, coaching support for leadership roles, or strategies to improve knowledge retention and engagement across departments.

Participants will be tasked with analyzing organizational needs, identifying skill gaps, and proposing custom learning solutions to improve onboarding, upskilling, and long term development.

Deliverables
  • Conduct a needs assessment to identify skill gaps and L&D opportunities for FCSS-FESC staff and volunteers
  • Develop a digital learning strategy or coaching framework following the organizational goals and volunteer engagement needs
  • Create one or more instructional tools such as a structured onboarding program, department specific training guides, or interactive learning modules
  • Propose a gamification strategy to increase engagement in training activities, including possible reward systems, progress tracking, or peer challenges.
  • Implement learning analytics tools or metrics to assess training effectiveness, user engagement, and retention outcomes.
  • Compile all materials into a professional L&D portfolio showcasing the strategy, design, and impact of the project.
