PROJECT SCOPE

Challenge/Opportunity:

- Arts on the Ave operates a volunteer powered coffeehouse, the Carrot Community Arts Coffeehouse. All the revenue from the coffeehouse goes to our many projects. Some of our projects include festivals such as Deep Freeze and Kaleido Family Arts Festival.

-During this pandemic Arts on the Ave has recognized the growing challenge food security in the community. This pilot project, Families helping Families, started in the midst of the pandemic to address to some of the growing challenges families faces. We saw this as an opportunity to have other community members / families to get involve and help the needy.

-This projects main purpose is to oversee the progress of the already existing project. The task includes tracking and creating existing volunteer families, maintaining good relationship and recruiting more volunteer families to pair up with other families.

-The coffeehouse acts as a space where our staff can work and our executive director can meet important people as well as conducting our coffee business as usual.

Our goal at the end of this experience is:

● Maintenance and collaboration: maintaining all records collected and updating it as needed. Making sure to keep communication open to all families involved in the program.

● Documentation: Creating spreadsheet and reports of any progress including additional sign ups and inquiries.

● Reporting: Summary of work done and final report.

How will you support learners in completing the project?

A one on one mentorship and supervision as well as access to Arts on the Ave resources.
