We’re on a mission to eradicate rape culture by empowering survivors. In 2021, we launched VESTA Community; a trusted online hub that provides a safe digital space for survivors who want to seek support, record, or report their experience. In 2022, we launched VESTA Campus.
For this project we are looking to update our website. We currently have a WordPress website and want to update it and perhaps move to a Squarespace hosted site. Our goal is to create a visually pleasing and easy to navigate website with blog capability that is easy to maintain.
We're looking for computer science students with an easy for design or a design student with the ability to code website, if needed. Ideally, the student(s) will create an easy to navigate website, that is easy to navigate and has blog capabilities, social media integrations and links to Google Analytics. The biggest challenge may be exporting existing blog posts to the new site.

Students will connect directly with the employer for mentorship and supervision throughout the project. Student will meet with the CEO regularly for mentorship, feedback, and collaboration. If needed, they will meet with the Graphic Designer as well.

Gender equalityAbout the company
VESTA began as an information and reporting platform, it has since evolved into a digital, online hub for survivors. We’ve learned from the research and feedback to wrap even more options and services around survivors. Our aim is to fill the gaps for those survivors who can’t or are afraid to seek professional help. Through one point of entry, survivors can find information including financial, legal, and health services. They can connect with in person services, including counselling. With one click, they can access crisis chat and text lines. Students at our university partners, can connect with their school’s Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Office, to find out what their on-campus options are. For those, that don’t know what steps they want to take, if any, they can simply create a record of their experience and save it, without taking any action. And for those who do want to connect with the police, we facilitate a trauma-informed approach and introduction to them.
