mathematics data store storyboarding game design unity engineA team of game design students will create a minimum viable product (MVP) of a new educational math video game. A game design document (GDD) has already been created and the team will be working on creating a video game as outlined in the GDD. For this to happen, this project needs strong programmers. Students will be using the GDD as well as the storyboard and use their skills using Unity platform to create the MVP of the game.
During the project, specific tasks will be given to students. For example, coding the movement of an avatar, networking, creating the map system, the creation of a points system, etc. The developers will use their coding skills to convert the written document into code. The tasks will be determined based on the student's skills and interest.
The team will be responsible for creating a working prototype (MVP) of an educational math game, as outlined in a GDD. The team will work on the art, story, and programming of the game. The team must consider aspects of game design including UI, local or online multiplayer, storing data, and other aspects. Each student will be given a specific task to work on based on their skills and interest. Examples would be coding in the avatars, creating special effects, networking, creating a scoring system, onboarding players and saving data.
Students will be part of a team of developers and artists. The students will have access to the Game Design Document and to assets related to the project.
