Details

The Ontario Digital Literacy and Access Network (ODLAN) is seeking to improve its data management processes to better support its mission of enhancing digital literacy and access. Currently, the organization faces challenges in efficiently collecting, organizing, and storing data related to grants, conferences, local events and other relevant information. This project aims to streamline these processes by developing a more effective data management system. The goal is to create a structured and user-friendly database that will allow ODLAN to easily access and review critical information, thereby improving operational efficiency and decision-making.

Key tasks include:

  • Assessing the current data management practices.
  • Identifying gaps and inefficiencies in the existing system.
  • Create a written data collection process
  • Update data management framework.
  • Implementing the updated system and train staff on its use.
Deliverables

The project will result in a comprehensive data management system tailored to the needs of ODLAN. This includes:

  • A detailed report on the current data management practices and identified gaps.
  • A upgraded database structure for storing information on grants, conferences, and other relevant data.
  • A brief report on the changes and upgrades that have been carried out.

ODLAN is a registered non-profit organization that aims to remove digital literacy and access barriers for 2SLGBTQIA+ community members. We are a community-based, volunteer-led organization that was founded by 2SLGBTQIA+ graduate students, community leaders, and allies who have first hand experience working with 2SLGBTQIA+ community members with limited access to the knowledge and hardware needed to participate in online spaces. Our vision is to empower service providers with the resources, tools, and knowledge to build digital strategies that use an intergenerational approach to remove access barriers to digital programs and related services.
