Spanish for Healthcare: Bilingual Expertise for Healthcare Practices

Pre-Calculus: Data Analysis and Project Study

The University of Memphis invites industry partners to collaborate with our Pre-Calculus students to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical applications. Our students, who are revisiting high school algebra, trigonometry, and analytic geometry in a fast-paced, intensive course, are equipped to tackle complex mathematical problems as they prepare for college-level calculus. Through this collaboration, students aim to strengthen their skills in algebraic notation, solving equations, graphing functions, and applying trigonometric identities. Employers engaging in this experience must maintain regular communication with the students, provide necessary information and guidance, be virtually present during the final presentation, and offer constructive and professional feedback through the Riipen platform.
Engage and Inspire: Public Writing and Advocacy Collaboration
The University of Memphis presents an exciting opportunity for employers to collaborate with students enrolled in the Fall 2024 "Advanced Composition: Public Writing and Advocacy" course. This diverse group includes English majors and UoMGlobal students from various fields, all eager to enhance their writing skills and engage in social action through effective communication across multiple media platforms. These students will be equipped to identify and apply the standards of genre-specific public writing and media, including social media campaigns, podcasts, web content, digital newsletters, email campaigns, blog posts, press releases, and other public media. By partnering with our students, employers can benefit from novice perspectives and a collaborative team of aspiring professional writers. Students will bring their project management and design thinking skills to real-world advocacy challenges, making meaningful contributions to public awareness, activism, promotion, marketing, and more.
Social Work Service-Learning Project

Learners are required to complete 30 hours engaged in service learning during the semester. The learner is expected to demonstrate the following: Professional demeanor in behavior; appearance; and oral, written, and electronic communication. Demonstrate the ability to apply self-awareness and self-regulation to manage the influence of personal biases and values in collaborating with diverse clients and constituencies. Identify social policy and demonstrate the ability to assess how social welfare and economic policies impact the delivery and access to social services. Seeking service-learning opportunities where students can apply classroom learning through meaningful community service. Students have developed applicable knowledge in an introduction to social work as a profession. We seek experiential learning opportunities in social services programs from the public or nonprofit sectors as well as quasi-governmental/public with specific emphasis on social enterprise strategies.
