Are you looking for fresh and innovative ways to address sustainability and sustainable development?
Partner with students from Nazareth University in a project-based experience. Students will work on one main project over the semester, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools.
Students in this program will take an interdisciplinary approach to understanding sustainability and sustainable development. They will explore the meaning of systems thinking regarding sustainability, conduct a review of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and analyze the green economy.
Students will:
- Explore how sustainable development is related to three E's: economy, ecology, and equity, and the challenges of meeting all three E's simultaneously.
- Learn about the various narratives of development as they have evolved over time (i.e., describe mainstream or the conventional development model based on economic growth, describe the various alternative development models--based on basic needs being met, sustainable development model, degrowth model, etc.).
- Understand and describe the promise and pitfalls about techno-solutionism, and its connection to sustainable development.
Learners
Deliverables are negotiable, and will seek to align the needs of the learners and the organization.
Some final project deliverables might include:
- A 10-15 minute presentation on key findings and recommendations
- A detailed report including their research, analysis, insights and recommendations
