Video Production

Positions available: 1 Our organization needs some video production and editing help! We are looking for someone with video production experience who can help with original content creation for the purposes of promotion and exemplifying our youth programs, as well as post-production on films created by other participants in our programs. This would include collaboration with in-house project managers and post-production managers, and making the best short films possible with the available materials and time limitations. Reel Youth Social Media

Position: One individual student Throughout the year, we recognize events and holidays that are relevant to our extended online community, including Indigenous youth and Elders, queer youth and adults, new Canadians, Black youth, and young people facing economic and social barriers. This project will require: A critical eye for qualities that make a strong film (not just production value) An understanding of our festival and the types of films we want to highlight Self-discipline and time management skills Use of your home computer and internet to access FilmFreeway We will give you access to FilmFreeway, as well as personnel, training, and supervision. Non-profit onboarding process

We are a small team and want to be able to effectively and efficiently welcome new staff after the hiring process. We want new staff to be set up to hit the ground running, and feel like they have a grasp of the scope of our work and workplace processes. As such, we hope that an improved onboarding process will uphold our organization's values and culture and increase retention. Students should be prepared to: Research our existing onboarding practices to determine their effectiveness and opportunities for improvement. Research other non-profit onboarding practices. Research what onboarding components are most impactful for new employees. Starting with our existing materials, develop a standardized onboarding plan and package that achieves our goals, using content supplied by us.

Throughout the year, we like to recognize events, holidays, and notable days that are relevant to our extended online community, including Indigenous youth and Elders, queer youth and adults, new Canadians, Black youth, and young people facing economic and social barriers. We are looking for individuals that can help us set up and populate an online platform for scheduling social media posts. In order to set up and populate an online Reel Youth social media calendar, we are hoping you can: research and present options for a social media calendar platform populate it with relevant annual dates that relate to the work we do (arts, youth wellness, and social justice) consult with our social media team to provide insight a youth and Northern perspective on annual events schedule content: create draft social media graphics and posts for twitter, instagram, and facebook for 2022 work with our social media team to help develop a Tik Tok strategy We believe this project will require: Research skills Graphic design skills Experience and expertise with social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram) A self starting attitude, and the ability to communicate clearly and work independently with direction A social justice orientation We will give you access to organizational assets such as the Adobe Suite to support this project, as well as personnel, sales and brand collateral.
