LOCVM is looking for creative, strategic-minded students who are excited to help us revamp our sales and outreach process from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in startup sales strategy and client outreach execution.
We're building a streamlined, actionable market plan to connect with our target audience—and we want you to help shape it.
What You'll Work On:
- Collaborate on building a sales strategy tailored to LOCVM’s goals and ideal customer profile
- Identify key contacts and outreach channels within our target industries
- Craft compelling messaging to represent LOCVM’s value in the marketplace
- Create a clear, step-by-step outreach guide for future sales and marketing team members (including call/email script our team can use to consistently pitch LOCVM)
- Execute initial outreach based on the strategy you helped build, and analyze early feedback

By the end of this project, students will deliver a focused and actionable sales and outreach toolkit to help LOCVM connect with both sides of our marketplace: clinics, hospitals, and staff physicians hiring locums, and early-career physicians and residents seeking flexible work opportunities.
Core Activities:
- Identify new potential accounts aligned with our current customer base, including:
- Clinics, hospitals, and individual staff physicians responsible for locum coverage
- Residents, and early-career physicians open to locum work
- Medical students and medical school potential partnerships
- Compile relevant market research, including:
- Contact points, organizational needs, and decision-making structures
- Outreach channels (e.g., email, LinkedIn, institutional networks)
- Messaging tailored to each segment of our audience
- Develop and refine outreach scripts tailored for different stakeholders
- Update CRM to track framework and monitor outreach efforts and success metrics (e.g., open rates, response rates, interest level)
Active Outreach Component:
- Conduct initial outreach using the strategy and scripts you develop
- Reach out to a defined sample of target accounts on both the supply and demand side
- Gather early feedback and document responses to help validate messaging and channels
- Provide analysis on what worked and what can be improved
Bonus Contributions (Optional but Valued):
- Create custom materials, such as:
- Sales one-pagers, email templates, objection-handling guides
- Recommend long-term outreach tools or automation ideas to scale efforts
Final Submission:
- A comprehensive report including:
- Market research
- Strategic recommendations
- Messaging frameworks
- Outreach results and learnings
- A ready-to-use outreach playbook, including scripts, templates, and contact guidelines
- Updated CRM
This deliverable will help LOCVM scale its sales process and connect with the right people on both sides of the marketplace, while giving students hands-on, real-world sales and outreach experience.
