Project scope
What is the main goal for this project?

Objective: Report statistics on airplay and provide announcers with more information and updated and accurate data about artists.

Description: Using the artist by residence report in the music database, work through all the artists in the database alphabetically by the province they reside in. Make note of the start date and end date of each listed location, including the total number of hours to assist in mapping out approximately how much time will be needed for this project. Locations in plan may be separated as seems most appropriate for each province (ex. Alberta (Airdrie to Edgerton), Alberta (Edmonton/ Edmonton/Calgary) and Alberta (Esther to Wood Buffalo).

In addition to tagging artists according to their indicated categories (will be provided), add any missing profile information and if applicable, update artist website to current active website.

A students day to day could include:

  • Researching artist biographies using a variety of internet resources, such as artist pages, social media, and other sources such as Discogs.
  • Navigating the CKUA Music Database to find and update artist profile pages, adding appropriate artist tags, creating 'See Also' links to link relationships between collaborators, and updating the artist website links to the most current/updated ones available.
  • Collaborating with CKUA staff regularly via video calls to update on progress and answer any queries
