About the company
Hello buyers, my name is Christiane Youmbi, and I am the founder of Kankan Ltd.
Today, I am delighted to introduce you to KanKan Spice. It is a secret blend of the world-famous Penja peppercorn and spices from the African rainforest, inspired by my grandma’s recipe in Cameroon.
When I created it in 2020, my goal was to encapsulate Africa in a bottle. While supermarkets offer spice blends from all over the world, there's a noticeable absence of African flavors.
Why should you care? Simply because there is a growing population of African immigrants. Did you know that each year over 300,000 immigrants from Africa decide to call Canada home? In particular, nearly 80,000 people from West and Central Africa settle down in the Greater Toronto Area.
Moving to a new country is not an easy experience. You have to adjust to a new culture, and one of the challenges newcomers face is homesickness. One way to prevent that is to eat food from your country of origin. Unfortunately, there are not many African restaurants around, or they are too expensive.
The solution? Cooking at home!!! But what happens if you are not a good cook or lack time? With KanKan Spices, all you have to do is sprinkle a little bit of Africa on fish, meat, or veggies to feel like you are back home, just like when your mother was cooking for you.
KanKan Spices are available in mild and medium-hot levels, and they come in various packaging options: jars of 5.3 oz, packages of 3 jars, or bags of any size you may need.
