Details
  • Create engaging and informative content that will attract new businesses to our Business Improvement Area.
  • Create a layout and content that is web ready for our website, and adapt a print brochure version of the content in Canva.
  • Use case studies and our market research report to develop a pitch and marketing materials to attract new businesses to our area.
  • Develop new written and visual content to enhance the story.
  • Create content that will appeal to our target audience of business owners including independent entrepreneurs as well as corporations.


Deliverables
  1. Create marketing messaging to attract new businesses (corporate head offices, hospitality, personal and professional services) to our area.
  2. Review our detailed market research data to select key facts and create charts.
  3. Discover and research applicable case studies to enhance project outcomes.
  4. If possible, create video content, or at least outline a detailed plan for video creation.
  5. Select photos from our collection, and identify any other types photos required.
  6. Create web-ready, high-quality content.
  7. Create a print brochure or flyer version of the content.
  8. Develop a promotion strategy for wider reach.
  9. Collaborate with web developers for seamless integration of the new content in a new category under the 'Do Business Here' section of our website.


Project deliverables will include new marketing materials--web-ready visual and text content as well as complementary brochure or flyer version for print--to attract new businesses to our business improvement area.


Mentorship
  • We will provide our branding information and market research report.
  • Access will be given to our photo libraries google drive folders.
  • Our detailed market research report will be available to the student.
  • Business email addresses to be used in the project.
  • Access to our team chat platform for business staff to facilitate communication and coordination.
  • Check-in meetings and review/commenting on content developed in google docs, Canva, etc.
  • A briefing meeting via Zoom with our team to launch the project.

The Yonge North York Business Improvement Area (BIA) was recently established and is one of over 80 BIAs in Toronto. Our organization is overseen by a voluntary Board of Directors from our business community. Representing over 1600 business and commercial property members, with over 30,000 employees and 51,000 residents within our district, we are one of the largest BIA’s in Toronto. Located along the Yonge corridor between Hwy 401 and just North of Finch Avenue, our urban district is experiencing significant development. The Yonge North York BIA’s vision is to be the preferred destination in North Toronto for businesses, residents, visitors and workers to live, work and play: By promoting the area as an accessible, safe, urban, vibrant and alternative destination to downtown Toronto and the suburbs; By creating economic growth and opportunity for members; and By improving the quality of life through business attraction, capacity building, events, marketing, public realm, retention and revitalization.
