This project will allow students to gain a comprehensive understanding of legal entities, including digital minute books and the databases that create them. There will be a portion of entering fresh data if there are complex share transactions or a history of corporate changes (amendments, continuances, amalgamations). Training and support will be provided from experienced paralegals and law clerks. This project can be completed in a fully remote capacity.

Additionally, we want to teach students how a modern law firm can manage entities and complete corporate legal work. Time permitting, other real-world training on corporate law could be completed on workflows that paralegals and law clerks execute on a daily basis.

The rewould be 5 hours of initial training that would cover how to complete the task / project. This would include system setup, an explanation of core concepts for corporate law in Canada, and how project management will be executed and tracked on an ongoing basis.
Continuous Support
2 experienced paralegals / law clerks will be available to support and answer questions as they arise on a continuous basis, with a minimum of 2 check-in meetings each week (one team meeting, one 1:1 meeting).
Additional Training
Should the project be completed faster than expected, additional work can be assigned related to corporate law and the daily tasks that law clerks under take. This could include completing annual compliance, incorporations, or other corporate filings that arise.
