What is the main goal for this project?

Our organization is looking to create content for on air and web while covering the variety of summer events across the province. Based on our coverage goals, students will Creating and packaging segments showcasing the different events that are happening around Alberta

This will involve several different steps for the students, including:

  • Chasing interviews, recording, editing, and packaging segments featuring artists performing at festivals and events.
  • Creating and package segments showcasing the different events that are happening around Alberta.
  • Creating scripts to front sell and back sell the clips showcasing the different events that are happening around Alberta.

Possiblity of:

  • On the ground coverage for select festivals, including representing CKUA with festival goers and working with volunteers.

Final deliverables should include

  • A series of scripts, audio clips and social media posts.

What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

By the end of the project, students should complete the following list of activities (this is basically a retelling of the steps above):

  • Consulting with the project manager to understand the goals and messages for each tier of coverage.
  • Chasing interviews, recording, editing, and packaging segments featuring artists performing at festivals and events.
  • Creating a script for each interview.
  • Creating and packaging segments showcasing the different events that are happening around Alberta.
  • Creating scripts to front sell and back sell the clips showcasing the different events that are happening around Alberta.
  • Editing and producing the visual and audio components of each segment.

Possiblity of:

  • On the ground coverage for select festivals, including representing CKUA with festival goers and working with volunteers.
  • Live updates from festivals and events.

Final deliverables should include

  • 30 finished scripts, audio clips and social media posts (2 per week).
