advocacy communication consultingThe Human Factor Community Organization is a not-for-profit which aims to elevate the status of humankind through programs, services, consulting community partners, and, where appropriate, advocacy in order to increase the health and well-being of the whole human and the communities where we live, play, and work.
We are seeking a student who will help us develop the foundation of what will become a youth led initiative aimed to bring awareness of the need to plant fruit bearing trees and bushes in pubic spaces.
The student will develop the following:
- a plan to execute a petition, or group of petitions that will be used to lobby local politicians.
- a plan to use social media and other means of communication to raise awareness on the issue
- a media release to show the need to have fruit bearing trees and bushes available for public use
- plan a demonstration at city hall locations in the County of Simcoe
- profile local politicians and identify into three groups; those who may, those who may not, and those whose support may be ambiguous.
- identify area's where fruit bearing trees and bushes can be planted
- develop an actionable plan that can be enacted upon by local councils.
- identify possible community partners
- identify 3 to 5 likely sources of funding.
These pieces will result in an actionable plan that youth who are associated with The Human Factor Community Organization will be able to use.

The chairperson of the board will work closely with the learner, providing a minimum of 5 hours of guidance per week. The learner will use the outline already created to use as a foundation for this project.
