We publish an annual report that is distributed to government contacts as a means to support our funding for operations. This task is a main component of this application in addition to verifying and updating
our national network database referred to as IPET (Innovation, Project, Enterprise Tracker).
We would like to collaborate with students in data entry and
This will involve several different steps for the students, including:
- Familiarizing themselves with our database structure.
- Transferring data into our databases efficiently.
- Verifying the accuracy of the data in our databases and making relevant updates.
- Organizing and retrieving data as requested.
Bonus steps in the process would also include:
- Learning and providing assistance in a report writer component to generate reports and developing a tutorial
By the end of the project, students should demonstrate:
- Familiarity with our database
- Efficient data transfer
- Verification of data accuracy
- Organization and retrieval of data
Bonus steps would include:
- Assisting in creating a report writer design & tutorial
Final deliverables should include
- A presentation on accuracy of data
- comparison/recommendations for database updates
Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project. We will be able to provide answers to questions such as:
- Our database
- Current understanding of immediate and long term needs
- Input on choices, problems or anything else the students might encounter.
