What is the main goal for this project?
The Global Student Government (GSG) was created in 2022 by a coalition of student governments collectively representing millions of students across all inhabited continents. The GSG seeks to represent students in international education policymaking and discourse, while providing services to support student governments, other extracurricular groups, and individual students. In Year 2, the GSG would like to focus on developing grants and sponsorships to help establish services to improve the lives of students within its jurisdiction.
Problem students will be solving: The GSG needs to update and revise its sponsorship package and develop a list of reliable grant agencies and sponsors. We need to research these organizations and their needs, and establish contact with them so they can collaborate with us.
Outcome students are expected to achieve: The goal of this project is to 1) revise and update the GSG sponsorship package, 2) create a database of potential grants and sponsorships, and 2) contact these organizations to establish strategic collaborations.
- What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?
-
Students will engage in two main activities.
1. Research. Students will research what makes a successful sponsorship package and will apply this knowledge to enhance the GSG's documents. Students will also search for potential funding organizations, compile their contact information in a global database, and develop an understanding of these organizations' main activities and funding criteria to contribute to the formation of GSG proposals to collaborate with them.
2. Outreach. Students will contact potential funding organizations in the database to invite them to collaborate with the GSG. Students will participate in meetings and negotiations with these potential funders and will assist in establishing partnership agreements.

The Global Student Government (GSG) was formed in April 2022 following two years of work by a coalition of student governments from around the world collectively representing millions of students. The GSG seeks to strengthen student representation, help student governments build their organizational capacities, develop activities and services to improve the student experience, and provide a voice for students at national and international levels.
