Celebrating 10 Years of Venture Philanthropy in North America

We would like students to help us with creating content that is aligned with our vision, mission, and sector. We will ensure the student has a clear understanding of what these elements are for our organization.

The Place2Give Foundation is a public charitable foundation operating in Canada with partnerships globally. We are celebrating our 10th Anniversary in June 2022. Our donors are from across North America, some of whom have only contributed once, others who have been regular donors to our organization and the charities/projects we support.

This project is to develop the marketing and communications collateral around this anniversary.

Ultimately, you will be working on content creation for our organization, which may include: graphic design, copy writing, video, social media, and other collateral.

If you like the sound of our culture, and are ready to tackle this challenge with us, then we'd love to hear from you.

Deliverables

To accomplish this, we expect the student(s) will:

  • Write blog articles, email newsletters/sequences and other content pieces on assigned topics
  • Review our newsletter lists and develop tags/segments to better target messages
  • Assist with a social media videos as part of our 60'ish Seconds of Philanthropy series on our sister site - Karma & Cents focusing on topics round CSR, philanthropy, social finance and impact investing
  • Evaluate recent successful user-generated campaigns, preferably in our sector
  • Identify media outlets that are most beneficial to share our story
  • Work with the management team and members of the P2G Board of Directors to develop a roll-out plan for these different pieces starting in Q2 of 2022 through to the end of the year
Mentorship

Students will work closely with the primary project manager who is supervising and available for questions. This will also include occasional progress meetings where adjustments to the students' tasks and duties can be made if necessary.

We are a small team and as such communication is critical. Members of the team include our volunteer board who may have some direct connection to the student(s). Monday mornings are required touch-ins as are Friday afternoons. We can formalize the times once the student(s) have been assigned.
