Details

Our company is developing crop disease testing devices for farmers and agronomists. We have now completed the prototype development phase and now need to generate customer leads and build out our sales model.

We would like to collaborate with students to begin generating customer leads.

This will involve several different steps for the students, including:

  • Researching out to our target market and having authentic conversations about how our product can help our customers (may include: talking with farmers, agronomists, consultants, and scientists).
  • Recommending strategies to improve our sales process, strategic positioning, branding, products and services.
  • Suggesting novel approaches for generating value for potential customers.
Deliverables

By the end of the project, students should demonstrate:

  • Understanding of our product and the competitive landscape of molecular diagnostic devices in agriculture.
  • Hands on experience and skills in sales.
  • Understanding of the agricultural industry and our competitive position.
  • Recommendation of strategies to optimize our sales process.
  • The ability to generate a sales lead.
  • The ability to close a sale.
  • Bonus steps would include:
  • Generating leads on strategic partnerships.

Final deliverables should include:

  • A final report outlining the key insights derived from pursuing and generating sales leads.
  • A presentation to the founders summarizing the results and learnings from your time doing sales

Mentorship

PathoScan founders will work closely with the student to ensure that the project is sufficiently supported. PathoScan intends to have meetings with the student twice weekly (or more if required) to ensure that the student is supported and that the project remains on track. The student will be added to the PathoScan internal communication channels (Slack) and can reach out to the team whenever they need. Sales skills and coaching from our team will be provided to the student throughout the project.

We are happy to provide guidance to the student for any obstacles that may arise.

Agriculture

PathoScan is a startup focused on revolutionizing agricultural practices with its innovative crop disease detection device. By allowing on-site and immediate identification of diseases, the device eliminates the need for centralized lab facilities and the associated delays. This transformative approach not only reduces costs but also empowers farmers with timely decision-making tools to ensure optimal crop health.
