Our company is looking to spin off one service of our app and rebrand the service to have its own identity. Rebranding will require a new name and logo. We are looking to better connect with our audience by standing out and being memorable while also being able to use the designs the students offer in a corporate setting.

We are looking for real designs that we could use as well as general branding knowledge. The right candidate would work to create consistent promotional branding and come up with possible new names for the company that are associated with available .com domains.

This will involve several different steps for the students, including:

  • Researching the brand identity.
  • Logo and name proposals that reflect who we are
  • Work to create a branding guide for us to reference
  • Help create prototypes using software tools that can be implemented in our marketing
  • Research competitors to see what they are doing.
  • Creating custom branding sheets with colours and logos.
  • Low-fidelity web design
Deliverables

By the end of the project, students should complete the following list of activities (this is basically a retelling of the steps above):

  • Research into brand
  • Brand names with available .com domains
  • Logo ideas
  • Brand reference
  • Prototypes for us to use
  • Web page layout

Bonus steps would include:

  • Custom material for us to use later on

Final deliverables should include

  • A brand sheet and style guide for us to reference
  • Prototypes of the logos made with software
  • Figma layout for web design with flow from the home page to 2 landing pages
Mentorship

Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project. We will be able to provide answers to questions such as:

  • Access to personnel, weekly stand-up meetings, website analytics, and more
  • Names of competitors and analysis to understand the market
  • Work within the student's software expertise

My Party Album is a private photo-sharing app. There are 2 types of services, the Party and the Mixer. Parties are defined by duration and the number of guests (i.e. weddings, family reunions, corporate events). Guests are invited by the Party Owner and every picture and 15-second video taken in the app is automatically uploaded to a private repository. They have sole access and can create albums to share as they wish. A Mixer is a subscription service for up to 20 people and is for everyday life and events (friend group, family vacation, spring break, girls' night out, gap year, etc). Content is automatically shared with every person in the Mixer. The app is private; the pictures are owned by the Subscriber or Party Owner and MPA has no access to them. They are not shared outside the app unless the Owner decides to share them. In this project, we want to spin off and rebrand the Mixer for our Collegiate Program making it available to school groups and faculty.
