The International Indigenous Speakers Bureau (IISB) will provide an opportunity to connect and engage with material from various Indigenous speakers, leaders, and Knowledge carriers from around the world; in areas such as history, Two-Spirit, environmentalism, health care, Indigenous Data Sovereignty, etc... For Indigenous students, this engagement will give the intern an opportunity to expand upon their own knowledge of other Indigenous communities' perspectives and worldviews, as well as a chance to possibly dive deeper into their own cultural connections.
Students will dive deeper into techniques of video editing and production more aligned with an Indigenous learning experience. This includes learning about pacing, appropriate media selection, honouring source material, Indigenous Data sovereignty, etc.
At IISB, we provide a safe and supportive environment where interns can learn, discuss, and unpack their questions and feelings as they go through the Indigenous Awareness Education.
