Details

Afrifursa is seeking a comprehensive event plan for its upcoming series of events, including the quarterly Diaspora Dialogues aimed at engaging the African Diasporan community across Canada. These dialogues are crucial for fostering connections and discussions on pertinent issues affecting the community. Additionally, Afrifursa will host a major event on the sidelines of the G7 summit in Alberta, providing a platform for African voices in global discussions. The goal of this project is to create a detailed and actionable event plan that ensures seamless execution, maximizes engagement, and aligns with Afrifursa's mission of empowering the African Diasporan community. The project will involve researching potential venues, developing a timeline, a marketing plan, budgeting, and identifying key speakers and partners for each event.

Deliverables

The project deliverables will include a comprehensive event plan document that outlines the logistics, timeline, and budget for each event. This will also include a list of potential venues, a proposed schedule of activities, and a roster of suggested speakers and partners. Additionally, a marketing and outreach strategy will be developed to ensure maximum participation and engagement from the target audience. Afrifursa will provide templates for each area of work.

Students will also be expected to execute signficant parts of the plan including engaging with external stakeholders, vendors and speakers. Senior Afrifursa staff will work closely with Interns and handle all critical elements.
