slack (software) target market management consulting ansoff matrix marketing management pricing strategies balancing (ledger/billing) new product development communicationThe project’s objective is to help us formulate a launch plan for a new product, based on a successful Proof of Concept using LLM technology that we have run with a client.
Questions we are looking to answer include:
- How narrow/wide should our target market be, balancing the need for revenue with the reliance on domain expertise to build a very strong solution (in terms of added value to clients)?
- Which elements of the end solution have the most potential for protectable IP for the company?
- Taking into consideration among others our expertise, capacity, and client base, which target market would be optimal to launch a version 1 into and at what price point?
- Do we want to continue relying on GPT as an LLM or are there better alternatives to achieve our objective?
We envisage the students to apply their learnings in management and marketing to date and perform additional research by communicating with the members of the project team at
BrightMinded, leveraging the skill set and experience of the faculty staff at University of Sussex, while also researching any relevant publicly available information that gives them the basis to generate the deliverables, as well as potentially interviewing external experts in this area.
We expect the students to apply standard techniques and methodologies like SWOT analysis, Michael Porter’s five forces, the Ansoff matrix model, etc, as part of their analysis to arrive at the deliverable.
We will make sure that all the relevant stakeholders will be available to the students for the duration of the project and we will do our best to help with any requests (for example, if the students need to interview our client(s)).
We will open a Slack channel where students and faculty staff can communicate directly with members of the project team at BrightMinded.
Deliverables:
The ideal outcome of the project would be a launch plan that can be delivered and presented to the company’s management team and that includes the following:
- An overview of the current competitive landscape for such a product
- A definition of the initial target market for our product
- A suggestion for a pricing strategy of the initial offering
- A description of the IP creation opportunities for the company
We will be available to meet with the students regularly to answer questions. In addition, we will be able to provide all information and assets required for the project.
