Details

We need assistance with reviewing our current onboarding, training, and team management processes to help us work more effectively as a team in this new virtual work environment. The primary focus of the team will be:

  • Review team management processes
  • Evaluate team management/communications platforms used
  • Analyze existing onboarding processes for new staff
  • Provide recommendations to be executed by the core staff

Our goals:

  • Improve our team management processes to enhance organization, team communication, and productivity
  • Build upon existing onboarding and training initiatives to ensure new staff are equipped with the information they need to succeed in the organization

Through this project, it is expected that the student(s) will benefit from:

  • Acting in a consulting capacity for a dynamic non-profit organization
  • Assisting an organization meet its strategic priority of having a secure staff (Priority 1.1 in our 2018-2022 Strategic Plan)
  • Gaining experience in improving an onboarding process for future employees (primarily students)
  • Applying research, analysis, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Contributing to a project that is significant to the success of an organization and the wellbeing of its employees

Science Atlantic is a charitable organization representing 18 post-secondary institutes in Atlantic Canada. We have been providing networking and conference opportunities for undergraduate science students and faculty in the Atlantic region since 1962. Our activities include ten annual academic conferences in different science disciplines, lecture tours by notable scientists, awards recognizing research and science communication skills, travel assistance for students to attend conferences, and workshops for faculty and students.
