Student teams will have the opportunity to focus on utilizing data to uncover store performance gaps like keeping top-selling items in stock. They will partner with store leadership to:

  • Analyze data on key performance metrics like sales, inventory turnover, etc.
  • Identify issues contributing to underperformance
  • Research and develop proposed solutions to address issues
  • Produce an action plan including a written proposal and formal presentation

Requirements

Meijer has identified a weakness in their stocking procedures, leading to popular stock not remaining on the shelf during peak shopping hours. Their current system is not efficient enough to keep up with the stocking needs. Student teams will have the opportunity to focus on utilizing data to uncover store performance gaps like keeping top-selling items in stock. Student teams will analyze issues, identify solutions, and provide leadership with an action plan to implement recommendations for optimizing operations and sales.
