human resources project planning business strategy communication researchThe Human Resource diploma program enables highly motivated business students to gain invaluable work experience by working in local companies within human resources departments. Students will be given meaningful project work in all areas of human resources. Field placement provides students with the opportunity to put the theory they have learned in the program into practice and to develop their skills.
Students are available for 4 weeks of placement from March 28th to April 22nd during normal working hours.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, student placements will predominately occur virtually but can be on-site with approval (if local).
Student deliverables are based on the needs of the employer. Employers can have multiple students work as part of the placement.
No compensation is required for students.

Project Examples
Students can work on a variety of projects including:
- Aid in recruitment and selection activities including job analysis, posting positions, updating ATS systems, screening applicants, scheduling and
- Participating in interviews
- Assist in training & development initiatives including onboarding, new hire orientation and scheduling training
- Update employer handbooks and policies
- Research HRM best practices
- Payroll administration
- Production of statistical and employee engagement reports
- Support Health and Safety or Wellness initiatives
- Support disability management activities
- Data entry in various HR activities
- Support Labour Relations activities or preparation for bargaining
- Assist in employee engagement surveys
- Assist with Employee performance and relations initiatives
Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:
Interview students interested in posting
Provide a dedicated contact who is available to answer periodic emails or phone calls over the duration of the project to address students' questions.
Complete a student evaluation.
Unpaid, for-credit experience.
