branding strategy research strategic storytelling creative contentIn this twelve-week studio, held in Melbourne, students from Professional Communication, specializing in Advertising, Journalism, Media and Public Relations are working in small interdisciplinary teams on communication projects.
Combining the best of the communication world, students apply communication research methods and human-centered design processes to offer innovative communication solutions to real-world problems.
Learners
Communication campaign and creative content (concept creation and collateral design)
- A tailored communication solution for a problem identified in a client brief based on strategic communication analysis, end-user research and creative concept generation.
- Prototype development for communication collateral and creative content including prototype testing with end-users
Communication plan
- After client feedback for final project pitch, each project will provide a project report including a communication plan outlining strategy and project execution
Client presentation
- A 5min client presentation (ideally live or in case of timezone clash: pre-recorded)
Showcase website
- A comprehensive project website that showcase the complete project and its collateral

Requirements

Previous studio clients of RMIT Professional Communication range from the corporate, social enterprise, local government and independent media sector. It includes ANZ, Edelman, Viva Energy, The Conversation, By All Means, Parks Victoria, Corangamite Catchment Management Authority, Eastern Maar Aboriginal Corporation and WIDGET (Women In Development (Games & Everything Tech)) among others.
Selected student projects from previous years from Singapore and Melbourne (2nd year undergraduate)
Additional company criteria
Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:
30min Work-in-progress Check-in (5 groups) on May 12th 2020 -- asynchronous (email/private forum)
Be available for a quick phone call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the course.
10min Course briefing session on May 8th 2020 -- either in real-time (skype/zoom) 10:30am SGP time or pre-recorded video PLUS Q'n'A - if possible
Provide a dedicated contact who is available to answer periodic emails or phone calls over the duration of the project to address students' questions.
60min Project Pitch presentations on May15h 2020 either in real-time (skype/zoom) between 12-3pm am SGP time or pre-recorded including specific group feedback by the client
