Project Examples

Starting this September, a team of 5 Business/IT students will dedicate 125+ hours over the entire semester developing and/or implementing a custom IT plan, recommendations, and strategic solutions for your organization.

Project focuses may include, but are not limited to:

  • Strategic use of information technology: Facilitation of the execution of your business strategy through creative and strategic deployment of an existing IT program.
  • Using information technology as a strategic weapon: Identifying and creating a sustainable competitive advantage through information technology.
  • Managing security and risks: Identifying what can go wrong in relation to your organization's IT systems and how to prevent it.
  • IT management analysis: Identifying who determines the IT strategy in your organization and how effective your IT governance is with recommendations for improvement.
  • Using IT to improve organizational effectiveness: Identifying areas of opportunity for efficiency/ productivity and the most effective and comprehensive IT solutions.
  • Managing competitive landscape changes: Rapid changes can make an unresponsive organization obsolete. Students will bring your organization up to speed by identifying and implementing relevant IT systems in anticipation or in response to industry changes.
Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Be available for a quick phone call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the course.

Provide feedback to the final report and project presentation.

Minimum of 2-4 interactions with the students in-person or remotely (approximately 4-6 hours over the duration of the project).

Provide a dedicated contact who will be available to answer periodic emails or phone calls over the duration of the project to address students' questions or provide additional information.
