Company Performance Evaluation Project
Project Overview: This project focuses on evaluating a company's performance based on information gathered from its CEO's communications, website, academic resources, and other relevant materials. Participants will analyze both the external and internal environments, assess strategic approaches, and provide recommendations to improve company performance. Key Project Activities: Introduction: Students will examine the company's mission, vision, and industry background. Information Needed from Your Organization: Company background, annual revenue, and number of employees. Your company's mission and vision statements. List of key competitors (both current and potential). External Environment Analysis: Students will identify industry forces, opportunities, threats, and macroeconomic factors affecting the company. Information Needed from Your Organization: Top industry forces influencing your company’s competitive position. Current strengths & weaknesses. Top three competitors. Insights on macroeconomic factors affecting the company. Internal Environment Analysis: Students will assess resources, capabilities, and competitive advantages. Information Needed from Your Organization: List of actual and potential resources. Information on core competencies and competitive advantages. Strategic Analysis: Students will conduct SWOT analysis and evaluate functional, business, and corporate strategies. Information Needed from Your Organization: SWOT analysis insights (Strengths & Weaknesses provided above). Specific functional strategies (e.g., cost savings, product differentiation). Business-level and corporate-level strategies. Any global strategies or plans for (product) expansion. Company Performance Analysis: Participants will analyze the company's performance and estimate profit margins over a three-year period. Information Needed from Your Organization: Company’s financial performance data for the last three years (Net Income, Revenue, etc.). Summary and Recommendations: Students will synthesize their analysis and provide actionable recommendations for company improvement.
