Overview
Learner goals and capabilities

Students from the Black Youth Reskilling in Tech program, offered through Black Boys Code & Lighthouse Labs, are available to tackle your organization's ongoing front-end, back-end or full-stack web development projects over a 4 week period.

These students have recently completed Lighthouse Labs’ Web Development Bootcamp and are participating in this program to upgrade their technical skills and portfolios with new languages and frameworks. They have been trained in the foundations of application development, computer science and software engineering principles and will use this to create a web application for your organization.

This program is funded by the Level UP program (powered by Riipen), which allows employers to bring on Canadian post-secondary students for 80-hour paid projects. Students are paid a $1400 CAD stipend on completion of the project by Riipen. Employers are not required to provide payment. Read more about the program here.

Expected outcomes and deliverables

What will your company get at the end of the course:

  1. Project Plan: The student will meet with organization representative(s) to devise the project scope and prepare a plan for completion of the project.

  3. Outcome: Software, Documentation, and Presentations: The final project deliverables include software code and relevant documentation for your implementation.
