Co-op Education Program

Bring on more students from Douglas College to be your virtual interns! Students will work on one or more projects of your choosing over the work term, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools.

*Students are available between September 1- December 31, 2022 and require a total of 420 hours. The # of hours may be reduced to a minimum of 280 hours depending on the COVID-19 situation.

Payment is necessary for student interns: $18-$21/hour (amount to be determined based on discussions and available grants)

Expected outcomes and deliverables

To be decided with the industry partner and academic internship coordinator. The student should complete a minimum of 420 hours with your organization.

Project Examples

We have Douglas College students in the following disciplines looking for co-op opportunities for 4 month or 8 month work terms:

  • Computer and Information Systems (Post-Baccalaureate Diploma)
  • Computing Studies and Information Systems (Diploma)
Additional company criteria

Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Be available for a quick phone call with the co-ordinator to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope in an appropriate fit for the internship

Provide a dedicated contact who is available to answer periodic emails or phone calls over the duration of the project to address student and Faculty Advisor questions.

Placements are required to be paid, with students expected to earn current market salaries for up to 40 hours per week.
