This Communication Internship is approved in communication and is a guided learning event and a culminating experience in which students apply the principles and skills learned, demonstrating competency under the guidance of a specialist in the field of human communication.

Our students are eager to put into practice what they have learned and to continue fostering their professional demeanor. We encourage you to submit a project scope to the course instructor so as to create tangible deliverables and timeline expectations.

Project Examples

The exact project topic and scope will depend on your organization's specific needs. Students can work on some or all of the aspects mentioned below.

  1. Evaluate and apply the principles of communication theory in the service of your mandate or a particular project.
  2. Assess and approach life/marketplace scenarios by means of theory-informed practice.
  3. Create narrative content through traditional and technological media.
  4. Support the needs of clients, legal professionals, and other organizational stakeholders through the use of accurate terminology and professional communication strategies, both orally and in writing.
  5. Apply Christian faith to communication practice in various communities and contexts (e.g. marketplace, workplace, civic).
Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Co-op terms must be remunerated under Company requirements.

Employer will need to virtually meet with the Co-op Consultant to provide an update on students' work mid-way through the co-op , and complete a final evaluation form at the end of the work term.

Provide a dedicated contact who is available to answer periodic emails or phone calls over the duration of the project to address student''s questions.

Company must agree to sign a Co-op Work Term Agreement (WTA) form provided by the Co-op Consultant.
